Today I am reviewing Sapphire's Radeon X1800XT 512 MB DDR3 Graphics card. This card is of the first generation of ATI video card's to use Shader mark 3.0 and pixel shader 3.0. The card features only 16 pipe's, but don't let that fool you as the clock speeds on this card are very high.

Specs:

  • PCI-Express Interface
  • 512 MB DDR3 onboard RAM
  • Core clock 625MHz -Memory Clock 1500MHz
  • PixelPipelines 16

Requirements:

  • 450 WATT PSU w/ a 12V rail of at least 25 Amps on the 12-V rail.
  • PCI-E compatible Motherboard
  • 512 MB of system RAM

Here is a picture of the card next to it's retail box:

As you can see it comes with quite a few accessories like VIVO cables, S-video out, Digital Out and a few software programs to go along with it and a free trial to 3 games.

Here is a close up picture of the card. Here you can see how large it is and you'll notice it's large dual slot cooling solution:

Now I will show you idle and load temps comparisions:

First I'll start up by showing the idle and load temps of this X1800XT.

Idle: 64 degrees Celcius

Here are load temps when Overclocked using ATI tool at a fully stable 691 Mhz core / 792 mhz for the memory:

Load @ OC: 78 Degrees Celcius.

Next up, some screenshots.
