Ok, now the Futuremark round. I have lumped them all together to get an overall picture of where the technology stands across the 3 main standards. 3D mark 2003, 2005, and 2006.

These are the latest versions as of the 9th of May 2007 and are run 3 times each to produce an average score which is what you see here.

 3dMarks
Just shy by about 12 points of 10000 points in 3D Mark 2006 this is a nice performer for an all stock computer. I have overclocked and achived 12000 points on all stock cooling with ease. For the first time I find 2006 good to watch and 2005 just flies in. This card makes 2003 not a thing of the past.

Just for interests sake, I installed 3D Mark 2001SE and overclocked. I achieved around 52000 point! For me, a sign that things have now really moved on.

Conclusion

This for me is an excellent card. At approx. £250 UK this is a leap from any single core 7800/7900 card. The card is quiet, sleek, and has not faltered once. I wouldn't go for an 8800GTX and the Ultra doesn’t seem to appealing at this time.

If Nvidia is your thing, then this is the only card to get. Oh and how does it differ from the 500MHz core clock spec? Riva, Nvidia and cool bits all show 513 MHz. I don’t think this is a reporting issue, but I have seen this on many cores running efficiently.
