Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary discipline that uses a combination of biology and technology to design and produce new molecules, plants, animals and microorganisms with improved characteristics. This progressive, interdisciplinary course draws its school and course content material from UCC’s Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Plant Science and Process Engineering departments. Further lectures are provided by staff from local biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies.
