Amazfit GTS 2 v Amazfit GTS: Design
With the plastic finish, GTS is lightweight and comfortable to wear smartwatch. Also, its silicone bands and an impressive squarish AMOLED display reminded me of Apple Watch, though the materials were different.
The GTS 2 also sticks to the same square dial design but most importantly it now comes with aluminum case.
Both the GTS and GTS 2 stick to the same 5ATM waterproof rating, which means you can go swimming wearing it to track your swim sessions.
The display size is also the same on both watches which is 1.65-inches with a resolution of 348 x 442 pixels, offering a pixel density of 341 PPI. Other features like Always-on display are also the same.
Amazfit GTS 2 v Amazfit GTS: Fitness features
Amazfit GTS offers some really great health and fitness features like counting steps, tracking sleep, monitoring heart rate, and PAI scores to make sure you live a healthy life. It has built-in GPS for sports tracking and also has the ability to sync health data with other apps.
GTS 2 is also a lot of the same fitness features. Though it got a new BioTracker 2 optical sensor for all-day and sports-based heart rate monitoring and also gives you abnormal heart rate warnings. The second-gen watch also has the ability to measure blood-oxygen levels.
Both GTS and GTS 2 have 12 sports modes and also offer stress tracking, PAI scores, and sleep monitoring which also includes tracking of all-important REM sleep cycles.
Amazfit GTS 2 v Amazfit GTS: Battery life
The GTS comes with a 220mAh battery which promises to deliver 14 days of battery life in normal mode and 20 hours while using GPS.
Amazfit GTS 2, on the other hand, offers a larger battery of 246 mAh capacity. However, due to improved monitoring and several new features, the battery life of this smartwatch is less. It can last for 7 days on a single charge in normal use and up to 20 days in battery saving mode.
Amazfit GTS 2 v Amazfit GTS: Connectivity, Sensors
In terms of connectivity, the GTS watch features Bluetooth 5.0 support for connecting to a smartphone. While the second-generation watch adds Wi-Fi 6 functionality apart from Bluetooth.
If we talk about sensors, both watches have a geomagnetic sensor, GPS + GLONASS technology, ambient light sensor, and air pressure sensor. However, the second generation watch brings an updated version of Huami’s BioTracker 2.0.
GTS did a good job when it comes to extra features. Such as it let you view notifications from smartphones, control music on your phone, and seeing widgets like the weather.
GTS 2 can offer a better smartwatch experience with some extra features like nudging notifications, and a music player with 3GB of storage to store music.
The GTS 2 also has a speaker and microphone which means you can receive phone calls on the watch when it is paired to your phone via Bluetooth. Moreover, GTS 2 also has Alexa support which is the first time for any Amazfit watch.
Amazfit GTS 2 v Amazfit GTS: Price
Amazfit GTS 2 is priced at Rs. 12,999 in India and it is available via Amazon India.
While the first GTS also came in at Rs. 12,999 but now it is available at just Rs. 9,999 via Amazon India.
So as we can see the Amazfit GTS 2 looks like an upgrade over the GTS. The addition of features like call receiving facility, blood oxygen measurements, and design changes like the aluminum case makes the watch more premium. However, you’ll surely pay more for those extra features. So if you really need to upgrade your smartwatch and are ready to pay more, GTS 2 is the right smartwatch for you.
